Serena and Emma Glover are a great example of the power of Partnership. This mother-daughter team from Redmond, WA, both graduates of CPS’ leadership programs, are working together to develop learning presentations inspired by Riane Eisler’s lifelong work in cultural transformation. They have co-facilitated intergenerational women’s gatherings where they encourage story sharing in the context of women’s empowerment and Partnership principles. As Emma says: “We wanted to offer a more holistic conversation about Riane’s ideas, i.e. ‘Here’s what has happened in the broader picture, and here’s what we can do to change it’”.

Emma, certified as a Partnership Leader in the 2015 Young Women Leaders Program, is a senior in high school this year. As she prepares to make the transition to college next year, she plans to continue to “…spread the work of The Center for Partnership Studies and the ideas behind the Partnership model. The way in which I am thinking about the collaborative nature of life (from being a Partnership Leader) and my passions towards social entrepreneurship is genuine, and it is what I want to pursue with the rest of my life.”

Emma was one of several young women from the US, Brazil and Canada who participated in the Summer 2015 Young Women Leaders cohort. For her Partnership Project, she initiated a conversation with her mom about applying the Partnership model in women’s leadership.

“I will for sure be spreading the word on this program to other women and people in my life. Thanks a million.”

Emma writes: “Thank you so much for the opportunities that you have given me through this program and cohort, I am beyond grateful. Not only was it a safe environment to speak in and be a part of, but it was a really positive experience overall. I will for sure be spreading the word on this program to other women and people in my life. Thanks a million.”

Emma’s mother, Serena Glover, is a graduate of Changing Our Story, Changing Our Lives: Riane Eisler’s Cultural Transformation Course. Serena is adapting Partnership and Caring Economy concepts introduced in Riane’s books (Sacred Pleasure, The Power of Partnership, and The Real Wealth of Nations) to create multi-media presentations for schools and community groups.
